Allyson graduated from the University of Missouri with Bachelor’s Degrees in Political Science and Spanish Philology. As an undergraduate, she was an intern for the Missouri State Public Defender, translating documents and interpreting for incarcerated, Spanish-speaking clients. Although Allyson’s plan had always been to attend Mizzou’s School of Law, she never did so as her gap year in 2009 turned into permanent residency in Spain.
Allyson received her Master’s in Foreign Language Education from The University of Granada and has been teaching English and Spanish for two decades. She is bilingual English-Spanish, but tinkers with Portuguese, Italian, and German for fun. Allyson also enjoys good food and wine, doing yoga, and being crafty around the house. She currently lives in Málaga with her husband and their two, extremely active boys.
